Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s documentary or editorial requests needing candid American backyard or private-pool leisure footage from 8mm home movies.
Period detail: The swimwear, lounge chairs, towels, and saturated 8mm color support a late-1950s neighborhood pool setting in French Lick, Indiana.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in relaxed, unstaged social behavior, with people standing near the pool, toweling off, and chatting or resting in the sun.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include shirtless men in swim trunks, women in swimsuits, lounge chairs, towels, grass, trees, a pool edge, and bright outdoor light.
Film character: The clip has soft focus, saturated color, visible grain, gate edges, and handheld framing typical of scanned 8mm home-movie footage.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief summer leisure insert, social-life cutaway, or memory beat within a 1950s family or community sequence.
Historical context: The footage shows informal mid-century recreation around a private pool, emphasizing casual neighborhood leisure rather than a public event.
Research note: People and recognizable faces are visible, so likeness and location context should be reviewed separately from any copyright licensing.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1958 8mm pool party footage, 1950s Indiana home movies, vintage swimming scenes, and mid-century neighborhood leisure.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with the same reel, then other French Lick 1958 material, then broader 1950s swimming, summer, and neighborhood gathering footage.
