Pool And City From A Distance — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1975, this vintage home movie captures a sun-drenched outdoor pool with sparkling blue water, surrounded by dry grass and concrete steps. A few people relax near the pool and swim, while a red inflatable ring floats on the surface. The scene transitions to a panoramic view of Stockholm, Sweden, seen from a distance through a window frame, with the city, waterways, and distant hills under a hazy sky. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 grain and color saturation, evoking mid-1970s nostalgia.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s 8mm Stockholm home-movie clip suited for archival requests needing leisure, poolside recreation, or distant city establishing material.
Period detail: The outdoor pool, dry grass, concrete steps, and distant hazy city view may show mid-1970s recreational and travel-film details in Stockholm.
Home-movie behavior: The clip carries an unstaged visitor perspective, observing swimmers from above before shifting to a distant city view through a dark window frame.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a blue outdoor pool, concrete steps, dry grass, a red inflatable ring, small people near the water, window framing, waterways, and a hazy city skyline.
Film character: The 8mm image has visible grain, saturated blues and greens, slight softness, and exposure shifts that read as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief leisure insert, travel transition, city cutaway, or memory beat linking recreation with a Stockholm overview.
Historical context: The footage offers visual context for everyday recreation and tourist observation in Stockholm without identifying a specific site or event.
Research note: People are visible at a distance, so likeness review may be needed even though no brands, audible music, or clearly identifiable private property are apparent.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1975 Stockholm 8mm pool footage, Swedish home movie city view, 1970s outdoor swimming pool, and vintage Stockholm panorama.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with the same reel, then with other Stockholm 1975 material, then with 1970s travel, leisure, pool, or distant city-view footage.
