A Young Woman Wearing Blue Winter Clothes And Sitting At... — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1961, this vintage home movie captures a young woman in a blue winter coat and hat riding a ski lift through a snowy mountain resort. The footage, viewed through a wooden railing, shows her seated and bundled against the cold as the lift ascends. In the background, snow-covered slopes, evergreen trees, and rustic lodge buildings define the classic Aspen ski scene. Other skiers are visible at the base, preparing for their run. The warm color palette and film grain evoke authentic 1960s nostalgia, offering a candid glimpse into mid-century winter recreation.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s documentary or commercial edits needing authentic Aspen ski-resort home-movie footage of winter recreation and lift-area activity.
Period detail: The 8mm color, ski clothing, simple chairlift, wood railing, upright skis, and lodge-like buildings support an early-1960s resort setting.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has candid visitor-shot value, observing a bundled young woman on a lift and nearby skiers without staged performance.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include snow-covered ground, a chairlift rider in blue, wood railing, upright skis, lodge buildings, bare trees, evergreen trees, and skiers at the base area.
Film character: The footage shows warm 8mm color, visible grain, soft focus, gate shadows, and slight handheld framing that add physical-film archival texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a winter-resort insert, ski-lift cutaway, transition into Aspen recreation, or brief memory beat within a 1960s sequence.
Historical context: The scene documents leisure skiing at a mountain resort, with people moving between lift equipment, snow paths, and rustic base-area buildings.
Research note: People are visible and likeness review may be needed; no obvious logos appear, while copyright and any location or property permissions should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1961 Aspen ski lift home movie, 1960s Colorado winter resort footage, vintage 8mm skiing, and woman riding chairlift.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel ski footage, then other Aspen 1961 winter scenes, then broader 1960s resort skiing and snow-recreation material.
