Two Women Riding Horses on Sunny Day — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1958, this vintage home movie captures two women riding horses on a bright, sunny day in French Lick, Indiana. The first woman wears a red shirt and blue pants, riding a white horse with brown patches, while the second wears a white top and patterned shorts on a palomino horse. A third rider on a dark brown horse appears in later frames. The scene unfolds on a paved path surrounded by lush green trees and lampposts, with a building visible in the background. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 film grain and color saturation, offering authentic archival footage of mid-century leisure and equestrian recreation.

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s leisure, resort-town recreation, horseback riding, and family-travel sequences needing authentic 8mm home-movie material.
Period detail: The riders' casual clothing, saturated color film, paved grounds, and simple lamp posts may show mid-century tourist or recreation setting details.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an unstaged vacation-film feel, with riders passing the camera and one rider briefly acknowledging the person filming.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include adult riders, white and palomino horses, a dark horse, paved paths, green trees, lawn, lamp posts, and a background building.
Film character: The footage carries 8mm color texture with visible grain, slight softness, strong daylight contrast, and handheld framing from a family camera.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short insert, transition, or memory beat for mid-century leisure, travel, outdoor recreation, or horseback riding.
Historical context: The scene documents casual horseback riding as a social leisure activity in a landscaped outdoor setting, without proving a specific event or venue.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed separately from copyright and any location or property considerations.
