Synchronized Swimming Team Performing at Night — Clip Details

GEORGIA-1951: Vintage 8mm home movie footage captures a synchronized swimming team performing at night in a lap pool. Swimmers in bright red costumes move in unison across the dark water, illuminated by overhead lights that create reflections on the surface. The grainy, colorized film quality and slight camera shake evoke a nostalgic, archival feel. This rare 1950s athletic performance showcases the elegance and precision of synchronized swimming, preserved in classic Super 8 format.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports 1950s U.S. recreation or women's athletics requests needing brief vintage home-movie footage of a synchronized swimming performance at night.
Period detail: The clip may show a mid-century pool exhibition, with bright swim costumes, dark water, and overhead lighting consistent with the supplied 1951 Georgia metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the spectator-like home-movie view, with swimmers performing in formation while the handheld camera observes from above the pool.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include dark pool water, swimmers in red costumes, overhead light reflections, lane-edge darkness, soft faces, and heavy film grain.
Film character: The 8mm scan has pronounced grain, low-light exposure, soft focus, colorized tones, and slight handheld instability that read as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, memory beat, or cutaway for mid-century leisure, pool performance, women's sports, or archival summer-night atmosphere.
Historical context: The footage visually documents a group aquatic performance and the social presence of organized recreational swimming without identifying the team or venue.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; no logos or private property are apparent, and copyright status remains separate from appearance releases.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1950s synchronized swimming, Georgia home movie pool performance, vintage 8mm swimmers at night, and women's aquatic team footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other footage from the same reel, then with Georgia or 1951 material, and then with related swimming, recreation, or women's team-sport clips.
