Zebras And Antelope Grazing And Relaxing In Field — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1974, this vintage home movie captures a peaceful scene at a wildlife enclosure in Irvine, California. Zebras with bold black-and-white stripes graze calmly while several antelope rest on the grassy field. The animals are scattered across a sunlit, open plain under an overcast sky, with a few palm trees visible in the distance. The footage has a nostalgic, slightly faded color palette and natural film grain, offering authentic archival footage of African wildlife in a zoo or safari park setting.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s documentary or educational edits needing visitor-shot wildlife park footage of zebras and antelope in a California safari-style enclosure.
Period detail: The 8mm color, soft focus, visible gate weave and faded palette support a 1970s home-movie feel, while the open enclosure may show an Irvine wildlife attraction.
Home-movie behavior: The camera holds on resting and grazing animals from a visitor viewpoint, giving the scene an unstaged observational quality rather than a managed wildlife portrait.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include grazing zebras, resting antelope, open grass and dirt ground, a low horizon, overcast sky, distant palms and rounded 8mm frame edges.
Film character: The clip carries authentic 8mm texture through mild grain, soft exposure, subdued color and slight handheld instability across the short animal tableau.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a wildlife park insert, a quiet transition, or a cutaway for themes of leisure travel, animal display or 1970s family filming.
Historical context: The scene reflects home-movie documentation of exotic animals in a managed enclosure, with no visible visitors, signage or staff to identify the facility onscreen.
Research note: No people, logos or readable signs are visible, but users should still assess copyright, location permissions and animal-facility context for their intended use.
Research search match: Likely matches searches for 1974 8mm Irvine wildlife park footage, zebras grazing, antelope resting in enclosure, or vintage California safari park home movie.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Irvine 1974 wildlife park material, then broader 1970s zoo or safari enclosure footage.
