Three Zebras Grazing in Enclosure — Clip Details

IRVINE CALIFORNIA-1974: Three zebras graze on a grassy field, their black and white stripes contrasting against the muted greens and browns of the enclosure. Shot on 8mm film, the footage captures a quiet moment as the animals slowly step forward, their heads lowered to the ground. In the background, a vintage red car and a light-colored wall suggest a zoo or wildlife park setting. The image is framed by dark borders, typical of home movie footage, with visible film grain and slight color fading that evoke a nostalgic, mid-1970s atmosphere. This authentic archival clip offers a glimpse into a bygone era of family entertainment and animal observation.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s documentary or educational edits needing real 8mm zoo animal footage from Irvine, California.
Period detail: The red car, muted color palette, and metadata-supported 1974 date place the scene in a mid-1970s zoo or wildlife park setting.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has a visitor-shot home-movie feel, observing zebras quietly grazing without staged action or narration.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include three zebras, grass, a low wall, bare tree branches, a red car, and dark film-frame borders.
Film character: The clip shows 8mm grain, soft focus, slight color fading, and contact-frame borders that preserve its physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a calm animal cutaway, zoo memory beat, or transitional insert in a 1970s recreation sequence.
Historical context: The scene reflects a family-visitor perspective on zoo animal viewing, with the animals separated from a roadway or public area beyond the enclosure.
Research note: No people or logos are visible, but users should still review copyright status and any zoo or property-use concerns separately.
Research search match: Researchers may search for 1974 Irvine 8mm zoo footage, zebras grazing in enclosure, or 1970s home movie wildlife park scenes.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other shots from the same reel, then Irvine 1974 material, then broader 1970s zoo or animal-observation footage.
