Perth Australia-1967: Statue and Plaque of Queen Victoria in Perth

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

1960s 8mm visitor footage for documentary inserts about Perth landmarks, Queen Victoria memorials, colonial-era commemoration, or Australian public history.

Period detail

The statue, granite pedestal, engraved plaque, and saturated 8mm color may show a mid-20th-century tourist visit to a Victorian-era public memorial in Perth.

Home-movie behavior

The clip has a visitor-shot perspective, moving from a wide look at the monument to closer plaque views as someone records the inscription for memory or travel documentation.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include a robed Queen Victoria statue, granite base, engraved gold lettering, tall trees, blue sky, dark frame edges, and close views of the plaque.

Film character

The footage carries 8mm texture through visible grain, slight handheld framing, strong daylight contrast, warm color response, and soft focus around the inscription.

Edit role

An editor could use it as a cutaway, location insert, research beat, or transition into material about monarchy, memorial culture, Perth travel, or Australian colonial history.

Historical context

The visible inscription frames Queen Victoria through public commemoration and references colonization and federation without showing any ceremony, crowd, or official event.

Research note

No people, faces, logos, or audible music are indicated, but researchers should still assess monument copyright, plaque text, location permissions, and contextual use separately.

Research search match

Useful search matches include 1967 Perth 8mm Queen Victoria memorial, Australia statue plaque home movie, and vintage footage of colonial public commemoration.

Archive pairing path
