Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1967 8mm aerial footage of Perth coastline and suburban land helps solve requests for late-1960s Australian city approaches, coastal geography, or travel-era establishing material.
Period detail: The frames may show a late-1960s coastal city edge with low-density suburbs, open fields, undeveloped land, and a broad oceanfront visible from an aircraft window or open aerial vantage.
Home-movie behavior: The clip carries the value of a traveler or resident filming from a flight, recording the coastline and city layout as an unstaged personal view rather than a planned survey shot.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include blue ocean, curving coastline, suburban streets, green fields, pale sandy ground, scattered buildings, haze, and dark film-frame borders.
Film character: The 8mm image has soft focus, visible grain, mild color fading, exposure variation, and gate edges that help identify it as scanned physical home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief establishing insert, travel transition, map-like cutaway, or memory beat before scenes set in Perth or coastal Australia.
Historical context: The aerial view gives visual context for Perth's coastal suburban form and surrounding open land as captured in 1967, without confirming specific districts or landmarks.
Research note: No people, faces, logos, or audible music are indicated, but copyright, aircraft access, location identification, and any property-related concerns still require normal review.
Research search match: Researchers may find this under searches such as 1967 Perth aerial footage, 8mm Australia coastline, vintage home movie ocean view, or suburban fields from aircraft.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with other footage from the same reel, then with 1967 Perth or Western Australia clips, then with broader aerial coastline and suburban development material.
