Aerial View of Coastal City from Above — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1967, this aerial footage captures a sweeping view of a coastal city from above, likely Perth, Australia. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports 1960s Australian urban, aviation, and coastal-city archive requests for documentary inserts, education timelines, or location-establishing sequences.
Period detail: The aerial view may show mid-century suburban road patterns, low-rise development, open land, and coastline consistent with the supplied 1967 Perth metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a visitor-shot aircraft perspective, with an observational sweep over city, shore, and ocean rather than a staged scene.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include blue ocean, pale shoreline, dense urban blocks, roads, open fields, scrubland, sandy ground, and aircraft-window-like framing.
Film character: The 8mm scan carries soft focus, visible grain, mild color fading, exposure variation, and frame-edge shadows that read as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as an establishing aerial insert, geographic transition, travel-memory beat, or visual bridge into 1960s Australian urban growth.
Historical context: The footage provides visual context for a coastal Australian cityscape with residential spread, undeveloped parcels, and shoreline seen from above.
Research note: No people, faces, logos, or audible music are evident, but location identification, copyright status, and any property-related use should still be reviewed.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1967 Perth aerial footage, 8mm coastal city flyover, Australian home movie city view, and 1960s urban coastline.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel travel footage, then with Perth or 1967 Australia material, and finally with broader aerial city or coastline themes.
