Sign Reads Rockwell Manufacturing Company Total Barrels... — Clip Details

A close-up shot of a vintage 8mm film clip from 1967, showing a mechanical counter on a metal industrial device. The dial reads 'TOTAL BARRELS' with a numerical display showing 96364. The label identifies the manufacturer as Rockwell Manufacturing Co. of Statesboro, Georgia, and notes it is made by Feeder-Root of Hartford, Conn. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 film grain, slight color fading, and a blueish tint typical of 1960s home movies. The camera remains static, focusing on the industrial signage and counter mechanism.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s industrial or manufacturing sequences needing a close insert of a mechanical barrel counter on 8mm home-movie footage.
Period detail: The metal counter, rolling number wheels, and printed manufacturer plate support a mid-20th-century industrial detail, with 1967 Brisbane context supplied by metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The static close-up has the observational feel of a visitor or amateur filming an industrial device for record rather than staged demonstration.
What appears in frame: Visible details include the TOTAL BARRELS label, rolling number display, Rockwell Manufacturing Co. plate, Feeder-Root mark, screws, metal housing, and reset counter text.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows soft focus, visible grain, bluish color shift, slight gate framing, and exposure variation that give the insert physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief cutaway, industrial insert, measurement detail, or transition within archival sequences about production, shipping, or machinery.
Historical context: The shot visually connects industrial measurement equipment with transnational manufacturing labels, while the broader workplace or process is not visible in these frames.
Research note: Visible company names and product markings require brand and trademark review; no people appear, so likeness concerns are not indicated from these frames.
Research search match: Researchers may find this under 1967 Brisbane 8mm industrial footage, Rockwell Manufacturing counter, TOTAL BARRELS meter, or vintage mechanical counter close-up.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1967 Brisbane industrial footage, then broader 1960s machinery and measurement cutaways.
