Woman in Bathing Suit Drying with Towel — Clip Details

NEW JERSEY-1938: Black and white 8mm home movie footage captures a young woman in a vintage bathing suit standing outdoors, drying herself with a towel. She stands beside a metal ladder near a leafy, ivy-covered wall, her hair styled in a classic 1930s bob. The grainy, high-contrast image shows natural film imperfections, including dust specks and slight vignetting, evoking a nostalgic summer memory from a private family archive.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1930s editorial projects needing brief black-and-white home-movie footage of summer leisure and bathing-suit fashion in New Jersey.
Period detail: The woman's fitted bathing suit, bobbed hair, towel, and 8mm black-and-white stock support a late-1930s private recreation setting.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the informal pause as a young woman stands outdoors drying herself, apparently unaware of any staged performance.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include blank film leader, frame edges, a young woman, a towel, a metal ladder, dense ivy or foliage, and strong outdoor contrast.
Film character: The clip carries 8mm texture through grain, dust specks, high contrast, vignetting, gate edges, and slight exposure variation across frames.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short cutaway, memory beat, or transition for themes of summer, private family archives, or 1930s leisure.
Historical context: The footage may show everyday recreational dress and outdoor bathing culture in a private New Jersey home-movie context without identifying a public site.
Research note: A visible adult likeness appears; copyright, privacy, and likeness permissions should be reviewed separately from the absence of logos or audible music.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1938 New Jersey 8mm home movie, 1930s woman bathing suit, black-and-white summer footage, towel poolside cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel family footage, then New Jersey 1938 material, then broader 1930s summer, poolside, and bathing-suit scenes.
