Person Swimming In A Pool — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1937, this vintage home movie captures a person swimming in a backyard pool in Southampton, New York. The black-and-white footage shows a swimmer creating splashes and ripples in the water, with a dark, leafy background visible beyond the pool's edge. The grainy texture and soft focus are characteristic of early 20th-century amateur film, offering a nostalgic glimpse into mid-century leisure. Period detail: The frames may show a backyard or residential pool setting, with black-and-white 8mm texture and simple pool edging consistent with the supplied 1937 home-movie metadata.

What appears in frame: Visible elements include a swimmer partly submerged, splashing pool water, rippled surface, pool edge, dark vertical frame borders, and leafy background beyond the water.
Film character: The clip has soft focus, visible grain, high-contrast black-and-white exposure, and slight framing instability characteristic of amateur 8mm filming.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short insert, memory beat, or leisure cutaway within sequences about 1930s private life, summer recreation, or swimming.
Historical context: The footage offers a small-scale view of recreational swimming in a private-looking outdoor setting without supporting broader claims about the household or community.
Research note: A person is visible but not clearly identifiable in these stills; copyright, likeness, and any property context should be reviewed separately before use.
