SOUTHHAMPTON NEW YORK-1937: Two swimmers in white swim caps relax in a backyard pool while a lifeguard in a dark swimsuit sits atop a tall wooden chair, watching over them. The black-and-white 8mm film captures the quiet summer recreation of the era, with the swimmers chatting and floating in the water. The scene is framed by dark foliage, and the grainy texture of the vintage Super 8 footage adds to its nostalgic, archival quality. This authentic home movie offers a glimpse into mid-1930s leisure and poolside life.
