Rear Three-Quarters Of A Fish Dead Or Dying On The Ice — Clip Details

BUCKS LAKE CALIFORNIA-1938: Rear Three-Quarters Of A Fish Dead Or Dying On The ice. This 8mm home movie captures a fish lying motionless on a frozen surface, bathed in a striking blue-purple light that gives the scene an eerie, cold atmosphere. The fish's silvery body contrasts with the textured, crystalline ice, and the grainy, vintage quality of the Super 8 film enhances the nostalgic, archival feel. The shot remains static, focusing on the stillness of the catch, evoking a sense of quiet aftermath from a winter fishing trip. This footage offers a rare, intimate glimpse into mid-20th century outdoor recreation and the natural environment of Bucks Lake.
