Parade Float with Red Cow — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1967, this vintage home movie captures a parade in Los Angeles, California. A black truck pulls a float featuring a large red cow statue, with a person in light clothing standing nearby. The footage shows a sunny day with a crowd gathered, and a building with 'MONTE ESCROW COMPANY' signage is visible in the background. The image is grainy with film scratches and color fading, typical of archival Super 8 footage.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for requests needing 1960s Los Angeles parade home-movie footage, especially brief inserts of a novelty float, street crowd, and local business frontage.
Period detail: The frames show mid-century street-parade details, including an older black truck, a red cow figure on a float, and Monte Escrow Company signage that supports the 1967 Los Angeles metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The camera observes from a spectator position, catching the float and nearby crowd in an informal, unstaged home-movie view.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a black truck, a red cow parade figure, float supports, spectators, a storefront sign, bright daylight, and heavy film-frame borders.
Film character: The 8mm scan has soft focus, faded color, vertical scratches, dust marks, and uneven exposure that read as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short parade insert, a Los Angeles street-life cutaway, or a memory beat between broader 1960s civic-event scenes.
Historical context: The clip shows a community parade scene with spectators and a local escrow-company sign, but the specific parade or sponsoring group is not identified in the frames.
Research note: People and business signage are visible, so likeness, trademark, and location-identification review may be needed in addition to copyright clearance.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1967 Los Angeles parade, 8mm home movie parade float, red cow float, black truck parade, and Monte Escrow Company street scene.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with 1967 Los Angeles street or parade footage, and then with other novelty-float or civic-event clips.
