Shot on 8mm film in 1966, this vintage footage captures a karate competition in a gymnasium in Temple City, California. Young athletes in white gi sit attentively on the floor while a man in a dark suit addresses the group. Judges and spectators, including women in 1960s attire, observe from tables and bleachers. The scene, marked by the warm, slightly faded colors of Super 8 film, conveys the atmosphere of a community martial arts event. The grainy texture and soft focus are characteristic of home movie footage from the era.
