Women in Swimsuits Wave from a Decorated Parade Float — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie from 1962 captures a lively parade float in Pasadena, California. The white, elaborately decorated float features several women in white swimsuits and sashes, waving to the crowd as it moves down the street. Palm trees and mid-century buildings line the route under a partly cloudy sky, with spectators visible along the roadside. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 film grain and color saturation, offering a nostalgic glimpse into 1960s American community celebrations and retro Americana.

What appears in frame: Visible elements include a white floral parade float, women in white swimsuits and sashes, a curved float sign, curbside spectators, palm trees, street lanes, and low-rise buildings.
Film character: The 8mm scan has soft focus, saturated color, visible grain, slight gate edges, and handheld framing that preserve the physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: Use as a short insert, transition, or memory beat for 1960s parades, Pasadena civic life, pageant imagery, or retro public celebration sequences.
Historical context: The clip shows a public parade scene where swimsuit-clad women on a themed float acknowledge a roadside crowd in a Southern California street setting.
Research note: People and possible signage or logos are visible, so likeness, trademark, and event identification should be reviewed separately from footage copyright.
Research search match: Useful searches include 1962 Pasadena parade 8mm, women waving from parade float, 1960s California community parade, and vintage home movie float.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1962 Pasadena material, then broader 1960s parade or Southern California celebration footage.
