View Of Blue And Yellow Parade Float On A Bright Sunny Day — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1962, this vintage footage captures a lively parade in Pasadena, California. Two performers in colorful costumes, one in a red hat and striped shirt and another in a black mask and red-and-white striped vest, walk down the street. A large, elaborately decorated parade float with blue and yellow accents moves past, carrying participants and spectators. The scene is bright and sunny, with crowds lining the street, showcasing classic Americana from the early 1960s. The grainy, nostalgic quality of the Super 8 home movie adds to its historical charm.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s Southern California parade, civic celebration, and home-movie Americana requests needing brief editorial color footage.
Period detail: The costumes, decorated street float, spectators, and 8mm color stock support an early-1960s Pasadena parade setting from the supplied metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The handheld framing follows performers and a passing float from the curb, preserving the casual viewpoint of a spectator rather than a staged production.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include costumed parade walkers, a decorated float with blue trim and yellow material, spectators, palm trees, street lanes, and bright daylight.
Film character: The footage has soft 8mm color, visible grain, slight blur, uneven exposure, and handheld movement that read as original physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, parade cutaway, transition into civic celebration material, or memory beat for early-1960s Pasadena.
Historical context: The scene shows a public parade with spectators lining a broad street, suggesting mid-century civic pageantry and local community spectacle.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness and context review may be needed in addition to any copyright assessment for the scanned footage.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1962 Pasadena parade 8mm footage, vintage California float, home movie street parade, and early 1960s civic celebration.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel parade shots, then Pasadena or 1962 California material, then broader vintage parade and float footage.
