St. Louis Arch Poolside And Silver Slipper Shoe Sign — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1962, this vintage home movie captures a sun-drenched scene in Las Vegas. The iconic St. Louis Arch stands prominently in the background of a bustling poolside area, with lounge chairs and umbrellas dotting the foreground. The footage then transitions to a distinctive storefront sign for the 'Silver Slipper' shop, topped with a large, ornate high-heeled shoe, a classic symbol of the era's retro vintage. The grainy black-and-white aesthetic and film scratches evoke a nostalgic, archival feel, perfect for historical or editorial content.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1962 Las Vegas home-movie footage for editorial requests needing midcentury tourism, poolside leisure, and roadside casino-era signage.
Period detail: The frames show 8mm black-and-white views of a pool area with an arch-like structure and the Silver Slipper shoe sign, consistent with the supplied 1962 Las Vegas metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a visitor-shot perspective, briefly observing a poolside landmark scene before cutting to a nearby novelty sign above the street.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a large arch, pool deck lounge chairs, umbrellas, small distant visitors, building facades, sky, and the Silver Slipper shoe sign.
Film character: The footage has soft 8mm contrast, visible grain, gate edges, dust marks, and slight handheld framing that preserve the feel of a scanned home movie.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief Las Vegas establishing insert, a tourism transition, or a cutaway from leisure space to commercial street signage.
Historical context: The clip visually places midcentury Las Vegas leisure and spectacle together, showing poolside recreation near oversized themed signage.
Research note: People appear only as distant figures, while the Silver Slipper name and sign are visible, so trademark, location, and likeness review may still be needed.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1962 Las Vegas 8mm home movie, Silver Slipper shoe sign, vintage poolside arch, and midcentury casino signage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1962 Las Vegas material, then broader vintage tourism, poolside leisure, or neon sign footage.
