Person Waiting To Be Pulled Up On Water Ski — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1962, this vintage home movie captures a person in a life jacket waiting in the water before being pulled up on water skis. The scene unfolds on a calm blue lake with a dry, rocky shoreline and sparse green shrubs in the background. The skier, wearing a dark top and light-colored shorts, is initially seen floating before being pulled by a rope, eventually rising onto the skis and gliding across the water. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 grain, color fading, and slight motion blur, evoking a nostalgic 1960s recreational moment. Ideal for documentaries, editorial content, or nostalgic projects exploring mid-century leisure activities.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s 8mm home-movie footage from Izmir, Turkey, useful for documentary or educational edits needing mid-century leisure, water sports, or vacation recreation material.
Period detail: The scene may show early 1960s recreational water skiing, with simple skis, a tow rope, swimwear, and an undeveloped rocky shoreline visible in the frames.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has the unstaged value of a family or travel-film moment, watching a skier wait in the water and then rise onto the skis during a casual outing.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include blue water, a floating skier, water skis, a tow rope, white spray, rocky shoreline, dry slopes, and scattered green shrubs.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows soft focus, visible grain, color fading, gate edges, and handheld framing that give the scene recognizable home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, leisure cutaway, travel-memory beat, or transition into broader sequences about summer recreation and coastal holidays.
Historical context: The footage documents recreational water skiing in a home-movie context, showing leisure activity against a dry shoreline without identifying a public landmark.
Research note: A person is visible at distance, so likeness review may still be needed; no logos, brands, private property, or audible music are evident from the supplied metadata.
Research search match: Likely researcher matches include 1962 Izmir 8mm water skiing, Turkish home movie water sports, 1960s vacation recreation, and vintage lake leisure footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with same-reel Turkey travel or family footage, then other 1962 Izmir scenes, then broader 1960s home-movie recreation and water-sport clips.
