A Person Swimming In The Lake With A Glimpse Of A Boat — Clip Details

A person in a bright orange swimsuit wades and swims in deep blue water at a rocky shoreline in Izmir, Turkey, in 1962. Shot on 8mm film, the footage captures a quiet summer moment with natural light and visible film grain. A small boat appears briefly in the distance, and the rugged, arid hillside with sparse greenery forms the backdrop. The handheld camera maintains a steady, observational perspective, preserving the authentic feel of a vintage home movie.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s 8mm home-movie footage for documentary or educational requests needing a brief summer swimming scene on the Izmir shoreline.
Period detail: The footage may show early-1960s leisure travel through the orange swimwear, small boat, rocky arid shore, and handheld 8mm color-film rendering.
Home-movie behavior: The swimmer is observed from a distance in an unstaged home-movie manner, wading and moving through the water without direct address to the camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a lone swimmer, deep blue water, rocky beige shoreline, sparse shrubs, a small boat at frame edge, and dark contact-sheet borders.
Film character: The scan shows 8mm grain, soft focus, slight exposure variation, muted color, and handheld framing that give the clip clear physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short cutaway, summer memory beat, travel insert, or quiet transition within a sequence about coastal leisure or home movies.
Historical context: The scene documents recreational swimming along a dry rocky shoreline in Izmir, offering visual context for private leisure and coastal travel in the 1960s.
Research note: A person is visible at a distance, so likeness review may be needed even though no logos, audible music, or identifiable private property are evident in the frames.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1962 Izmir 8mm swimming footage, Turkey home movie shoreline, vintage swimmer in blue water, and small boat coastal cutaway.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then with Izmir or Turkey material from 1962, then with broader vintage swimming, shoreline, and travel scenes.
