Motor Boat And Swimmer At Rocky Lakeside — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1962, this vintage home movie captures a sunny day at a rocky lakeside in Izmir, Turkey. A small motorboat with two people cruises across the deep blue water, passing a rugged, sun-bleached shoreline dotted with sparse greenery. Later frames show a swimmer in a red swimsuit enjoying the water, with the rocky coast visible in the background. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 grain, color shifts, and natural motion, evoking a nostalgic 1960s summer vacation atmosphere. Ideal for documentaries, editorial content, or nostalgic projects exploring mid-century leisure.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s archive requests needing home-movie leisure footage of boating and swimming on blue water near a rocky Turkish shoreline.
Period detail: The soft 8mm color, handheld framing, small motorboat and simple swim scene support a mid-century vacation setting, with 1962 Izmir supplied by clip metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has an unstaged visitor perspective, following a small boat and distant swimmer from shore or another fixed vantage point across the water.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include deep blue water, pale rocky hillsides, sparse shrubs, a small motorboat, a swimmer in red, distant shoreline and dark film-frame borders.
Film character: The clip shows physical 8mm texture through visible grain, slight blur, exposure variation, color shift and handheld instability across the brief sequence.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short cutaway, travel-memory insert, summer recreation beat or transition between broader 1960s Mediterranean leisure scenes.
Historical context: The scene documents informal waterside recreation, with boating and swimming set against a dry rocky coast rather than a developed resort view.
Research note: People are visible at a distance, so likeness review may still be needed; no logos or private property are apparent, and copyright clearance is separate.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1962 Izmir home movie, 8mm Turkey lakeside, vintage motorboat swimmer, rocky shoreline recreation and 1960s swimming footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1962 Izmir footage, then broader Turkey waterside leisure or mid-century vacation material.
