Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for requests for early 1960s Mediterranean resort leisure footage, especially documentary or editorial sequences needing authentic poolside vacation imagery from Rhodes, Greece.
Period detail: The scene shows period swimwear, striped lounge umbrellas, poolside chairs, and soft 8mm color that support a 1962 resort-holiday setting without identifying a specific resort.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the casual, unstaged view of swimmers moving through a pool while other guests sit and recline nearby, filmed from a vacationer's poolside perspective.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include two swimmers in turquoise water, pool edging, lounge chairs, seated guests, striped umbrellas, a low resort structure, and faded sky beyond the deck.
Film character: The footage has soft focus, visible grain, slight color fading, gate edges, and handheld framing consistent with scanned 8mm home-movie material.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief cutaway, memory beat, or transition for travel, tourism, summer leisure, or family-holiday sequences set in the 1960s.
Historical context: The clip reflects mid-century resort leisure and swimming-pool culture as seen through private travel footage, with visible guests but no confirmed identities.
Research note: People are visible at a distance, so likeness review may be needed; no logos are apparent, but copyright, location, and property permissions should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1962 Rhodes Greece 8mm pool footage, vintage resort swimmers, 1960s Mediterranean holiday home movie, and poolside umbrellas archival film.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Rhodes 1962 travel footage, and then broader 1960s resort, swimming, and Mediterranean vacation scenes.
