Yellowstone Wyoming-1967: Old Faithful Geyser Erupts in Red-Tinted 8mm Home Movie

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Supports 1960s travel, national park, and American road-trip sequences needing visitor-shot 8mm footage of Old Faithful erupting at Yellowstone.

Period detail

The red color cast, soft 8mm texture, and brief Old Faithful Geyser sign fit the supplied 1967 home-movie date and a mid-century tourist viewpoint.

Home-movie behavior

The clip carries a visitor-shot landmark perspective, moving from close red-tinted film impressions to the park sign and distant geyser plume.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include red-tinted close-ups, the Old Faithful Geyser sign, boardwalk or viewing area, low hills, hazy sky, and a white eruption plume.

Film character

The footage has heavy red tinting, visible grain, soft focus, exposure bloom, and slight handheld instability typical of scanned amateur 8mm film.

Edit role

An editor could use it as a brief insert, memory beat, travel transition, or archival cutaway establishing Yellowstone through a home-movie lens.

Historical context

The footage shows how a 1960s visitor may have recorded a major national park landmark with consumer film stock and strong in-camera or aging color shift.

Research note

No people are visible, but the Old Faithful sign and public landmark identification should be reviewed separately from copyright and location permissions.
