Yellowstone Wyoming-1967: Bear Moving Through Red-Tinted Forest

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Useful for 1960s editorial projects needing brief wildlife footage from Yellowstone or a moody archival insert of a bear in a forested park setting.

Period detail

The 8mm texture, heavy red color cast, soft focus, and metadata-supported 1967 date place this as mid-1960s amateur travel or wildlife filming.

Home-movie behavior

The camera observes the bear from a visitor-like distance, with no staging or narration visible in the frames.

What appears in frame

A dark bear, red-tinted forest floor, scattered rocks, tree trunks or branches, soft shadows, and uneven handheld framing are visible.

Film character

The clip has dense grain, soft focus, underexposed shadows, red-biased color, and slight handheld instability typical of scanned 8mm home-movie footage.

Edit role

An editor could use it as a wildlife cutaway, ominous transition, memory beat, or brief atmospheric insert in a Yellowstone or park-history sequence.

Historical context

The footage visually reflects mid-century tourist-era wildlife observation in a national park, while the frames do not show people, vehicles, signs, or landmarks.

Research note

No people, logos, or branded property are visible, but copyright status and any location or wildlife-use restrictions should be reviewed separately.
