Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s editorial or documentary requests needing brief home-movie footage of women's swimwear, posing, and personal camera performance.
Period detail: The one-piece bathing suit with a large bow-like bodice detail may show mid-1940s swimwear styling, supported by the 1946 Harrisburg metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The woman appears to pose and adjust her stance for a familiar camera, giving the clip an informal personal-fashion record rather than a staged commercial shoot.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman in a dark one-piece bathing suit, bare shoulders, legs, long hair, soft background tones, film edges, sprocket holes, and edge lettering.
Film character: Black-and-white 8mm texture shows heavy grain, soft focus, uneven exposure, visible gate edges, and contact-print framing that emphasizes the physical film source.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, memory beat, fashion cutaway, or transition within sequences about 1940s leisure, beauty, or home filming.
Historical context: The clip offers a private-view glimpse of a woman presenting swimwear to the camera, with social meaning best framed cautiously around personal style and leisure.
Research note: A visible adult woman's likeness requires review for publicity or privacy use, while copyright status should be assessed separately from likeness clearance.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1946 8mm home movie woman bathing suit, 1940s swimwear footage, vintage swimsuit posing, and Harrisburg Pennsylvania home movies.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel material, then with Harrisburg or 1946 home movies, and then with broader 1940s fashion, leisure, or women's style footage.
