A Lady And Couple Of Men Posing For A Photo Shoot — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1946, this grainy black-and-white home movie captures a woman flanked by two men in formal attire. The man on the left wears a fedora and suit, while the man on the right dons a peaked cap and uniform, suggesting a military or official role. The woman, dressed in a dark coat, stands between them against a plain backdrop. The image exhibits classic Super 8 film characteristics—faint scratches, dust spots, and soft focus—evoking a nostalgic, archival feel. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s U.S. home-movie requests needing a brief formal posing moment with adults in civilian dress and an official or military-style uniform.
Period detail: The fedora, structured coats, formal dress, and peaked cap may show mid-1940s public or family portrait customs in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Home-movie behavior: The trio holds a posed stance, then subtly turns toward one another, preserving a candid home-movie record around a formal photograph setup.
What appears in frame: Three adults stand before a plain outdoor backdrop with a fedora, dark women's coat, peaked cap, suit coats, soft focus, and contact-print frame edges.
Film character: Black-and-white 8mm footage has pronounced grain, soft focus, light scratches, dust, and slight exposure unevenness that read as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, memory beat, or transition for family history, postwar social life, or archival portrait-taking scenes.
Historical context: The visible clothing and careful posing suggest a formal social or family occasion, but the specific relationship between the people is not identified.
Research note: Faces are visible and one man's peaked cap may indicate official or military affiliation, so likeness and contextual use should be reviewed separately from footage copyright.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1946 Harrisburg home movie, 1940s adults posing, woman with two men, fedora and uniform cap, and black-and-white 8mm portrait footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other 1946 Harrisburg material, then broader 1940s family portrait or formal posing footage.
