A Lush Landscape View and Kthi-TV Tower Sign in Clifford — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1972, this vintage home movie captures a sweeping view of a lush green landscape in North Dakota, framed by a window. The scene features rolling hills covered in dense trees under a cloudy sky, evoking a quiet, rural atmosphere. The footage transitions to a close-up of a handwritten chalkboard sign inside a vehicle, reading 'KTHi-TV TOWER 2063 FT. CLIFFORD, N.D. SEPT. 5-7/72,' confirming the location and date. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s North Dakota archival requests needing rural landscape footage and a dated KTHI-TV tower location marker for documentary or research edits.
Period detail: The handwritten chalkboard date of Sept. 5-7, 1972, the 8mm color stock, and the vehicle-window framing support an early 1970s home-movie context.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has a visitor-shot perspective, moving from an observed green landscape to a practical hand-labeled sign documenting the tower stop.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include rolling green hills, dense trees, cloudy sky, window framing, vehicle interior edges, and a chalkboard sign for KTHI-TV tower in Clifford, N.D.
Film character: The footage shows soft 8mm grain, mild exposure variation, gate edges, and handheld framing that preserve the physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a location-establishing insert, dated research cutaway, travel transition, or memory beat within a rural communications or North Dakota sequence.
Historical context: The sign links the rural view to a television tower visit near Clifford, North Dakota, without proving activity beyond what the label and frames show.
Research note: Human review should consider the visible KTHI-TV name, partial people or bodies near the vehicle, and separate copyright, trademark, likeness, and property questions.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1972 North Dakota 8mm landscape, Clifford N.D. KTHI-TV tower sign, rural television tower home movie, and vintage Midwest travel footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent frames from the same reel, then other 1972 North Dakota or Clifford material, then rural tower, road-trip, and landscape home-movie footage.
