Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s 8mm lake-tour footage for productions needing Isle Royale visitor travel, dockside boarding, or northern Michigan recreation context.
Period detail: The white tour boat, summer clothing, wooden pier, and saturated 8mm color may show early-1970s leisure transportation at Isle Royale.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has an unstaged visitor viewpoint as passengers wait on the dock and a tour boat approaches and ties up for boarding.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a forested shoreline, blue lake water, a white tour boat marked WENONAH, a wooden dock, waiting passengers, and bright summer light.
Film character: The footage carries home-movie texture through visible grain, slight softness, saturated blues and greens, and a steady but informal 8mm framing.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a cutaway, travel transition, arrival insert, or memory beat for lake tourism and park-visit sequences.
Historical context: The scene documents recreational boat access and group travel on a wooded northern lake without making claims beyond the visible dockside activity.
Research note: People and a vessel name are visible, so likeness, trademark or name-use, and location context should be reviewed separately from footage copyright.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1970s 8mm Isle Royale boat dock, Michigan lake tour home movie, WENONAH tour boat, and vintage passengers boarding boat.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel shots, then other Isle Royale 1972 lake or dock scenes, then broader 1970s vacation travel and passenger boat footage.
