A Travel Brochure For The Greater Augusta Maine Area — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie clip from 1971 shows a travel brochure for the Greater Augusta Maine Area, featuring Maine's State Capitol building. The green and yellow pamphlet highlights towns including Hallowell, Gardiner, and Winthrop. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s travel, regional tourism, Maine reference, and home-movie cutaway needs in documentary or educational edits.
Period detail: The visible brochure design, color palette, and 8mm filming style support a 1971-era travel or visitor information context.
Home-movie behavior: The clip reflects a quiet visitor-shot record of printed travel material rather than a staged promotional setup.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a green and yellow Greater Augusta brochure, Maine State Capitol photo, town names, tabletop surface, film gate edges, and soft focus.
Film character: The footage shows 8mm grain, slight color fading, soft exposure, and steady close framing that preserve the texture of original home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use this as an insert, regional travel transition, tourism-history cutaway, or memory beat before wider Maine or New England footage.
Historical context: The brochure visually places Augusta and nearby towns within a regional travel-promotion context without confirming who produced or distributed it.
Research note: No people are visible, but the printed brochure artwork and text may involve copyright or trademark review separate from likeness or property concerns.
Research search match: Researchers may find this under 1971 8mm travel brochure footage, Greater Augusta Maine area, Maine State Capitol brochure, or New England tourism home movie.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel material, then other 1971 New Hampshire or Maine travel scenes, then broader 1970s tourism, brochure, or road-trip footage.
