Goodyear Blimp America N10A Grounded On Grass Field — Clip Details

MINNESOTA-1970: A vintage 8mm home movie captures the Goodyear blimp, America N10A, grounded on a grassy field under a bright blue sky. The iconic silver airship, emblazoned with the Goodyear logo and red, white, and blue tail fins, rests on its landing gear with ground crew nearby. The footage, shot on Super 8 film, shows the blimp from a low angle, emphasizing its size and classic design. A handwritten title card confirms the date as July 31-August 1, 1971, adding to the nostalgic, archival feel of this Americana footage.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s home-movie footage useful for documentary or educational edits needing a grounded Goodyear blimp on a grass field in Minnesota.
Period detail: The silver Goodyear airship, tail markings, 8mm color stock, and handwritten weekend title card support an early 1970s aviation and Americana setting.
Home-movie behavior: The low, visitor-like camera position records the blimp as a public spectacle, with distant ground crew or bystanders providing scale rather than staged action.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include the Goodyear blimp, landing gear, grass field, paved path, blue sky, clouds, small people in the distance, and a handwritten title card.
Film character: The clip has saturated 8mm color, visible grain, slight softness, and contact-sheet framing that give it a physical home-movie archive texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as an aviation cutaway, establishing insert, travel-memory beat, or transition into a story about 1970s public events or branded airships.
Historical context: The footage shows a branded blimp displayed on open grass, suggesting a public aviation attraction or event without confirming the exact occasion beyond the card text.
Research note: The Goodyear logo and small visible people require review for trademark, copyright, and likeness considerations; the handwritten card also conflicts with the supplied 1970 year.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1970s 8mm Goodyear blimp footage, Goodyear America N10A on grass field, Minnesota home movie airship, and vintage blimp landing gear.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with neighboring reel shots from the same weekend card, then other Minnesota 1970s aviation footage, then broader home-movie scenes of airships and public spectacles.
