SAINT PAUL MINNESOTA-1969: A vintage 8mm home movie captures a devastating flood in a midwestern city. A light blue classic car is partially submerged in murky water, with a brick building and a large bridge visible in the background. Debris, including wooden planks and piles of material, floats in the flooded streets. The footage, shot from a fixed perspective, shows the extent of the inundation under an overcast sky, with a power line tower and distant houses on the horizon. The grainy, color-bleached quality of the Super 8 film adds to the historical and nostalgic atmosphere of the disaster.
