Young White Man Announces Horse Race Results on Microphone — Clip Details

A young man in a white dress shirt speaks into a microphone in a purple-lit room, captured on 8mm film in 1976. The grainy, color-shifted footage shows him announcing results with a focused expression, likely at a horse racing event in Kentucky. The scene has a nostalgic, home movie quality with heavy purple tinting and film grain, suggesting a personal recording of a local broadcast or public announcement. The footage is shot from a fixed angle, emphasizing the speaker's presence and the era's informal documentation style.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1970s Kentucky 8mm footage suited to documentary or editorial requests for a local announcer, race-result setting, or informal public-address moment.
Period detail: The white dress shirt, handheld microphone, plain interior wall, and strong purple color shift may show a modest 1970s indoor announcing setup.
Home-movie behavior: The speaker appears candid and focused, shifting expression while addressing someone or an audience just outside the camera's view.
What appears in frame: A young white man, white dress shirt, dark handheld microphone, doorway or wall trim, purple-lit interior walls, visible film grain, and contact-sheet framing are present.
Film character: The 8mm image has heavy grain, soft focus, uneven exposure, frame-edge darkness, and pronounced magenta-purple dye shift that give it clear home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, reaction cutaway, or memory beat for local racing, announcements, amateur media, or 1970s community interiors.
Historical context: The clip visually suggests an informal indoor public-address or results-announcing moment rather than a staged broadcast scene.
Research note: A recognizable face and private interior are visible, so likeness, location, and property permissions should be reviewed separately from copyright status.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1976 Kentucky 8mm announcer, young man with microphone, horse race results announcement, and 1970s home-movie public address.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then with Kentucky 1976 material, then with horse racing, microphone, announcer, or community-event footage.
