A Young Man Speaking At A Desk In A Home Movie — Clip Details

A young man in a white t-shirt with a patriotic graphic sits at a desk in a dimly lit room, speaking and gesturing during what appears to be an interview or presentation. Shot on 8mm film in 1976, the footage has a distinct purple color cast and grainy texture characteristic of home movies from the era. He wears a watch and appears engaged, occasionally raising his hand for emphasis. The setting is simple, with a plain wall background and a microphone visible on the desk. This authentic vintage home movie captures a candid moment of personal expression from the mid-1970s.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s Kentucky home-movie requests needing a brief interior shot of a young man speaking at a desk for documentary, education, or period texture use.
Period detail: The white graphic T-shirt, wristwatch, simple desk setup, and small microphone may show a casual mid-1970s home recording or informal interview environment.
Home-movie behavior: The subject appears engaged in unscripted conversation, shifting posture and raising a hand as if explaining something to someone just off camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a seated young man, white graphic T-shirt, wristwatch, desk surface, small microphone, papers, plain wall, and dim interior lighting.
Film character: The 8mm scan carries soft focus, heavy grain, purple color shift, uneven exposure, and contact-print framing that read as authentic home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short insert, conversational cutaway, memory beat, or transitional detail for personal media and 1970s domestic interiors.
Historical context: The footage offers a modest view of informal home recording culture, with a young adult seated indoors rather than a staged public setting.
Research note: Faces, private interior space, a visible shirt graphic, and possible personal likeness require review; copyright status is separate from likeness and property permissions.
Research search match: Searches for 1976 Kentucky 8mm home movie interview, young man speaking at desk, 1970s interior home footage, or amateur film microphone scene may match this clip.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Kentucky 1976 interiors, then broader 1970s home-movie scenes of informal conversation or recording.
