Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1970s New York City zoo or wildlife archive requests needing visitor-shot bear behavior in a confined rocky enclosure.
Period detail: The 8mm color, handheld framing, and zoo enclosure setting support the 1971 home-movie period noted in the clip metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has an unstaged visitor perspective, watching a young bear investigate a white bucket and splash at the waterline.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a bear, white bucket, shallow water, artificial rocks, sandy ledges, enclosure walls, shadows, and 8mm frame edges.
Film character: The clip shows soft 8mm grain, faded color, uneven exposure, and slight handheld instability consistent with home-movie filming.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a brief wildlife cutaway, zoo insert, childhood-memory beat, or transition into urban animal-care context.
Historical context: The scene documents a zoo visitor view of a bear enclosure, showing the animal in a rocky habitat with water and simple enrichment objects.
Research note: No people, logos, or brands are visible, but users should review copyright status and any zoo or animal-enclosure property considerations separately.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1971 8mm New York City zoo bear, vintage home movie bear with bucket, and 1970s zoo animal footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with the same reel, then other 1971 New York City zoo footage, then broader vintage zoo or captive wildlife behavior scenes.
