New York-1959: Office Building with Rows of Windows

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

Useful for requests needing 1950s New York office architecture, corporate exterior cutaways, or mid-century urban business setting footage.

Period detail

The frames may show late-1950s commercial high-rise design, with a gridded window facade and diagonal exterior pattern seen against open sky.

Home-movie behavior

The clip carries a visitor-shot perspective, with the camera looking up from street level rather than presenting a staged architectural survey.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include a tall windowed facade, diagonal wall patterning, blue sky, dark film borders, a green vertical edge, and partial rooftop lettering.

Film character

The 8mm scan shows pronounced grain, soft focus, color shift toward green, uneven exposure, and dark gate edges that mark it as physical home-movie film.

Edit role

An editor could use this as a brief establishing insert, business-district transition, architectural cutaway, or period city memory beat.

Historical context

The view places corporate modern architecture within a New York urban setting without showing street activity, interiors, or identifiable people.

Research note

No people are visible, but the partial building lettering or logo should be reviewed separately from copyright and property considerations.
