Woman With A Green Coat Walking And Shoveling Snow — Clip Details

A woman in a green coat with a white collar walks through a snow-covered yard in New York during winter 1959. Shot on 8mm film, the footage captures her moving through the snow, adjusting her coat, and later using a snow shovel. The scene has a soft, faded color palette with visible film grain and scratches, evoking a nostalgic, authentic home movie feel. The setting appears to be a residential neighborhood with houses and bare trees in the background. This vintage 8mm home movie footage is ideal for documentaries, editorial content, or nostalgic storytelling about mid-century American life.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s New York winter home-movie requests needing an everyday residential snow scene with an adult woman outdoors.
Period detail: The coat style, muted color 8mm stock, snowy yard, and residential background may show mid-century winter life consistent with the 1959 metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The woman appears casually filmed as she walks through snow, keeps her hands near her coat, and later works with a shovel in an unstaged domestic moment.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a woman in a green coat, deep snow, a snow shovel, a parked car edge, distant houses, bare trees, and yard fencing.
Film character: Soft focus, faded color, uneven exposure, visible grain, scratches, and handheld framing give the clip a physical 8mm home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, seasonal transition, neighborhood cutaway, or quiet memory beat for winter domestic life.
Historical context: The footage documents an ordinary outdoor winter chore in a residential setting without showing identifiable landmarks or public events.
Research note: An adult face is visible and likeness review may be needed; copyright, location, and property considerations should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1959 New York snow home movie, woman shoveling snow 8mm, vintage winter yard footage, and mid-century residential snow scene.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with nearby same-reel winter household footage, then other 1959 New York exteriors, then broader snow and domestic chore material.
