Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s American home-movie requests needing family leisure, backyard swimming, or mid-century summer recreation in Indiana.
Period detail: The backyard pool, swimwear, hedge border, and soft 8mm color may show late-1950s suburban family recreation as dated by the clip metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the relaxed, unstaged interaction of adults standing in the pool, talking, wading, and using an inflatable ring.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include adults in a backyard pool, pale pool coping, hedge planting, a potted palm, soft turquoise water, and a dark inflatable ring.
Film character: The clip has a faded 8mm color palette, visible grain, soft focus, minor dust marks, and a casual home-movie framing style.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief summer memory beat, family-life insert, poolside cutaway, or transition within a 1950s domestic sequence.
Historical context: The footage shows private leisure around a backyard swimming pool, offering visual context for mid-century family recreation without proving broader social claims.
Research note: People are visible, including identifiable faces, so likeness review may be needed in addition to copyright and any property-use assessment.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1959 Indiana 8mm home movie, 1950s family swimming pool, backyard pool footage, and vintage American summer recreation.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Indiana 1959 family scenes, then broader 1950s backyard leisure or swimming footage.
