Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports 1950s documentary or exhibit needs for home-movie scenes of backyard swimming, summer recreation, and informal family leisure in Indiana.
Period detail: The outdoor pool, swim caps, and 8mm home-movie framing may show late-1950s middle-class recreational life, consistent with the supplied 1959 Indiana metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has unstaged home-movie value as swimmers move casually through the pool while the camera observes family recreation from nearby.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a blue backyard pool, adult swimmers, white swim caps, splashing water, a pool edge, a ladder or diving-board area, and dark shrubbery beyond the pool.
Film character: The clip carries a blue color cast, visible grain, soft focus, dust specks, and slight exposure shifts that read as physical 8mm archival texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, summer-memory cutaway, recreation transition, or period family-life beat within a 1950s sequence.
Historical context: The scene documents casual pool recreation and social leisure without supporting claims about a specific neighborhood, family identity, or event.
Research note: People and faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed in addition to separate copyright and any location or property considerations.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1959 Indiana home movie swimming pool, 1950s backyard recreation, 8mm family leisure, and vintage freestyle swimming.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with same-reel family leisure footage, then other 1959 Indiana home movies, then broader 1950s pool or summer recreation scenes.
