Statue Of Liberty Torch And Park View In Vintage 8mm Footage — Clip Details

A vintage 8mm home movie from 1964 captures the Statue of Liberty against a deep purple sky, its torch raised high in a low-angle shot. The footage exhibits classic Super 8 grain and color shifts, with the iconic crown and arm prominently featured. The scene transitions to a blurry, dark outdoor view of a curved structure surrounded by trees, suggesting a park or garden setting. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Supports 1960s documentary or educational requests needing visitor-shot New York City landmark footage with an archival home-movie viewpoint.
Period detail: The Statue of Liberty view and 8mm color rendering support the supplied 1964 New York City context, while the park-like second view should be described cautiously.
Home-movie behavior: The low-angle framing of the torch and crown reads as a tourist's handheld look upward, followed by a brief nearby outdoor cutaway.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include the Statue of Liberty torch and crown, deep sky, film-frame edges, a dark divider, trees, a curved low structure, grass, and bright ground highlights.
Film character: The clip has dense 8mm grain, purple-blue color shift, soft focus, uneven exposure, and handheld framing that preserve a physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a short landmark insert, travel-memory beat, or transition from iconic monument detail to surrounding outdoor atmosphere.
Historical context: The footage places a major New York landmark within a personal sightseeing record rather than an official or staged city portrait.
Research note: No people, logos, or audible music are indicated, but landmark, copyright, and any location or property permissions should still be reviewed for the intended use.
Research search match: Useful for searches such as 1964 8mm Statue of Liberty, New York City home movie landmark, vintage tourist footage, and 1960s Liberty Island view.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent footage from the same reel, then with 1964 New York City or Statue of Liberty material, then with broader 1960s sightseeing clips.
