Parade with International Flags at Stadium — Clip Details

SAN FRANCISCO CALIFORNIA-1944: A vibrant 8mm home movie captures a massive stadium crowd during a patriotic parade or ceremony. Participants carry a colorful array of international flags, including the American, British, and French tricolors, as they march across the field. The grainy, slightly faded color of the Super 8 footage evokes a strong sense of 1940s nostalgia. The scene is filled with people in period attire, some on horseback, under bright daylight. This archival clip offers authentic, unfiltered footage of mid-century public life and international camaraderie.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1940s documentary or educational edits needing San Francisco stadium pageantry, wartime-era public ceremony, international flags, and civic crowd atmosphere.
Period detail: The frames show mid-1940s color 8mm footage with period clothing, mounted participants, uniformed officers, and many national flags in a packed stadium setting.
Home-movie behavior: The clip has the value of a spectator-shot home movie, observing the parade from the stands with slight handheld movement and crowd-level distance.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a stadium crowd, flag bearers, horses, uniformed officers, field markings, hats, grandstands, and a large stone or concrete stadium wall.
Film character: The 8mm scan has soft focus, visible grain, faded color, uneven exposure, and contact-sheet gate edges that give the scene a physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, transition, or cutaway for public ceremony, wartime-era internationalism, stadium crowds, or civic celebration.
Historical context: The footage visually suggests a formal patriotic or international ceremony, but the specific event and participating organizations should be verified separately.
Research note: People and uniformed officers are visible, so likeness, institutional identity, and event permissions may require review separate from any film copyright assessment.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1940s San Francisco 8mm stadium parade, international flags ceremony, home movie crowd footage, and mounted officers on field.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with the same reel, then other San Francisco 1944 material, then broader 1940s public ceremony, stadium crowd, flags, and parade footage.
