Copenhagen Denmark-1965: Grey Fountain Near Bank Building On A Cloudy Day

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit

1960s Copenhagen street footage for documentary, museum, education, or editorial sequences needing a brief urban cutaway with a fountain, bank frontage, pedestrians, and period traffic.

Period detail

The frames show mid-1960s visual clues including 8mm color stock, older street clothing, a red period car, stone building facades, and a partially visible bank sign reading “ANDSBANKEN.”

Home-movie behavior

The clip has an unstaged visitor-shot viewpoint, with the handheld camera lingering on an ornate city fountain while pedestrians and street traffic pass through the background.

What appears in frame

Visible elements include a dark sculptural fountain with bird forms, pale multi-story buildings, a bank entrance with partial signage, pedestrians on the pavement, a red car, street lamps, and cloudy daylight.

Film character

The footage carries a 1960s home-movie texture with soft focus, visible grain, slight exposure variation, muted color, and handheld framing across the short shot.

Edit role

An editor could use this as a Copenhagen establishing insert, urban transition, street-life cutaway, or memory beat within a sequence about mid-century European city life.

Historical context

The scene documents everyday public space in Copenhagen, placing commercial banking frontage, pedestrian movement, street architecture, and a decorative fountain within one brief 1965 street view.

Research note

People and a visible bank sign appear in the footage, so use should consider likeness, trademark, and location-identification issues separately from any copyright status in the underlying film scan.
