Man Fixing Power Generator Attached To Electric Pole On — Clip Details

MINNESOTA USA-1964: A utility worker in a yellow bucket truck repairs an electric pole on a sunny day. The 8mm film captures the man in a harness working high above the street, surrounded by lush green trees and vintage cars. A handwritten date card confirms the footage was shot on May 30, 1964. The scene shifts to a lakeside dock where people stand near wooden pilings, overlooking calm water under a clear sky. This authentic vintage home movie offers a nostalgic glimpse into mid-1960s Americana, with natural film grain and saturated colors characteristic of Super 8 footage.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s documentary or educational edits needing Midwestern utility work, roadside infrastructure, or dated home-movie evidence from Minnesota in 1964.
Period detail: The handwritten May 30, 1964 date card and the bucket truck beside a wooden utility pole provide visible mid-century home-movie context.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has a casual observer viewpoint, watching a utility worker elevated above a roadside rather than staging a formal industrial scene.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a yellow bucket truck, a wooden utility pole, overhead wires, leafy trees, distant hills, people at street level, and a handwritten date card.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows soft focus, saturated color, gate edges, dust specks, and uneven exposure that mark it as physical home-movie film.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief cutaway, transition, or memory beat for electricity, public works, neighborhood maintenance, or 1960s Americana.
Historical context: The scene visually situates electric-line maintenance in a leafy Minnesota roadside setting without proving the utility, town, or exact repair being performed.
Research note: People are visible and may require likeness review; no logos are apparent, but copyright, location, and any property or labor permissions should be assessed separately.
Research search match: Relevant searches include 1964 Minnesota utility worker, 8mm home movie power pole repair, yellow bucket truck, and handwritten date card footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel scenes, then other Minnesota 1964 footage, then related utility, roadside, public works, or dated home-movie material.
