Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful 1950s Lake George home-movie footage for documentary or educational edits needing vacation travel, lake transport, or leisure-boat boarding scenes.
Period detail: The dress styles, wooden dock, varnished cabin boat, and 8mm color stock support a mid-1950s recreational lake setting.
Home-movie behavior: Passengers move naturally along the dock and ramp, giving the clip an unstaged visitor perspective on a summer boat outing.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a white and brown motorboat, green cabin roof, red roof lettering, wooden dock rails, passengers in summer clothing, lake water, wooded hills, and a woman by a house doorway.
Film character: The footage has soft 8mm color, visible grain, slight blur, uneven exposure, and handheld framing consistent with a family travel reel.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a brief insert, transition, or memory beat for midcentury tourism, lake excursions, or boarding a passenger boat.
Historical context: The clip visually documents recreational lake travel and group vacation activity in a midcentury New York resort setting without confirming identities or vessel ownership.
Research note: Visible faces and roof lettering may require likeness and trademark review, while copyright clearance remains separate from people or brand identification.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1955 8mm Lake George boat dock, 1950s family vacation motorboat, vintage lake boarding footage, and home movie passenger boat scene.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent reel scenes, then other 1955 Lake George footage, then broader 1950s summer vacation, dock, and passenger boat material.
