Speed Boat On Lake George New York In A Summer Day — Clip Details

A white speedboat glides across the water, leaving a wake behind, while a smaller motorboat with a person aboard navigates the lake. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1950s U.S. leisure, lake recreation, boating, and summer vacation inserts in documentary, museum, educational, or commercial archive edits.
Period detail: The small motorboats, wooded shoreline, and color 8mm home-movie texture support a mid-1950s summer recreation setting on Lake George.
Home-movie behavior: The footage has an unstaged vacation viewpoint, watching boats cross open water from a distance rather than posing subjects for the camera.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a white cabin speedboat, a smaller outboard motorboat, rippled lake water, wooded shoreline, distant lakeside structures, and hills beyond the trees.
Film character: The clip shows soft 8mm color, visible grain, slight exposure variation, and handheld framing consistent with mid-century amateur home-movie photography.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a boating cutaway, summer travel insert, lakeside transition, or nostalgic memory beat within a 1950s recreation sequence.
Historical context: The scene reflects postwar American leisure through visible lake boating and shoreline vacation activity without making claims about specific people or events.
Research note: People appear small and not identifiable in the boats; assess likeness, copyright, and any property concerns separately before final use.
Research search match: Search matches include 1950s Lake George boating footage, 8mm summer lake recreation, vintage New York speedboat, and home movie motorboat on lake.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with nearby shots from the same reel, then Lake George or 1955 New York footage, then broader 1950s boating and summer vacation material.
