Beautiful Poolside With Luscious Palm Trees And — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1968, this vintage home movie captures a sun-drenched poolside scene in Scottsdale, Arizona. Lush palm trees frame a turquoise swimming pool surrounded by white patio umbrellas and green metal tables and chairs. A low-slung motel building with a green roof lines the background, with a diving board visible in later frames. The footage, viewed from a balcony, shows a quiet, relaxing resort atmosphere with a distinct retro aesthetic and authentic film grain.

Archive brief fit: Useful for requests needing 1960s Scottsdale resort or poolside leisure footage for documentary, education, museum, or period commercial edits.
Period detail: The scene shows mid-century motel-style pool furniture, white shade umbrellas, palm landscaping, and low-slung lodging architecture consistent with the 1968 metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The balcony viewpoint and brief handheld framing give the scene the feeling of a traveler casually recording a quiet resort pool area.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a turquoise swimming pool, palm trees, white umbrellas, metal patio tables and chairs, railings, diving boards, lawn, and motel rooms.
Film character: The 8mm image has soft focus, visible grain, slight exposure variation, and gentle handheld movement that preserve the texture of a home-movie scan.
Edit role: An editor could use this as an establishing insert, leisure cutaway, travel-memory beat, or transition into a 1960s Arizona vacation sequence.
Historical context: The clip visually documents resort leisure aesthetics in Scottsdale, with shaded pool furniture, palm-lined landscaping, and balcony observation from a guest area.
Research note: No people are visible, but signage or possible resort identifiers should be reviewed separately from copyright, location, and property-use questions.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1968 Scottsdale pool footage, 1960s Arizona resort home movie, vintage 8mm motel pool, palm trees, umbrellas, and diving board.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel vacation shots, then other Scottsdale or Arizona 1968 material, then broader 1960s resort, poolside, and travel footage.
