Woman Swimming In Tropical Waters — Clip Details

A woman in a dark swimsuit swims in calm, shallow water at a tropical beach in the Bahamas in 1969. Shot on 8mm film, the footage captures her moving through the clear, turquoise water with gentle waves lapping around her. Her short dark hair and relaxed posture suggest a leisurely swim during a family vacation. The vintage color palette shows a distinct purple-blue tint, characteristic of 1960s home movies, with visible film grain and slight motion blur. The final frame shows a blurred, overexposed sky, indicating a quick camera movement or transition. This authentic Super 8 home movie offers nostalgic, archival footage ideal for documentaries, editorial content, or retro-themed projects.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s Bahamas home-movie footage for requests needing a brief tropical swimming, vacation, or leisure-life insert with a visible adult subject.
Period detail: The dark one-piece swimsuit, handheld 8mm framing, and color-shifted stock support a late-1960s vacation-film reading, with the Bahamas location supplied by metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The swimmer appears relaxed and unstaged, moving slowly in shallow water while the camera watches from a distance like a family vacation record.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include an adult woman in a dark swimsuit, calm turquoise water, small surface ripples, distant darker water, soft focus, and contact-sheet frame borders.
Film character: The clip has visible 8mm grain, purple-blue color shift, mild blur, uneven exposure, and handheld framing that read as authentic physical-film texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short memory beat, tropical vacation cutaway, leisure-life insert, or transition within a 1960s travel sequence.
Historical context: The footage reflects private leisure travel and beach recreation as seen through a home-movie camera, without visible landmarks or public events.
Research note: An adult face and likeness are visible at a distance, so users should review likeness and privacy needs separately from any copyright or source-license questions.
Research search match: Likely matches searches for 1969 Bahamas 8mm home movie, woman swimming in tropical water, vintage beach vacation footage, or 1960s family travel film.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Bahamas 1969 beach material, then broader 1960s swimming, ocean, and vacation home movies.
