Woman Playing Ring And Peg Game At Carnival — Clip Details

A young woman in a blue cardigan smiles at a carnival game booth in MINEOLA NEW YORK-1966, holding a ring as she participates in a ring toss. A cardboard sign advertises the game: '3 RINGS 10¢'. The scene captures the vibrant, grainy aesthetic of 8mm home movie footage, with warm colors and soft focus. Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: Useful for 1960s U.S. home-movie requests needing a brief carnival midway game moment for documentary, museum, education, or commercial period edits.
Period detail: The hand-lettered 3 rings 10 cents sign, casual clothing, and 8mm color stock support a mid-1960s community carnival setting in Mineola, New York.
Home-movie behavior: The clip preserves an unstaged family or visitor perspective as adults handle rings, smile, and play at a small game booth.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include a young woman in a blue cardigan, a plaid-shirted man, a ring-and-peg game sign, booth posts, hanging decorations, cups, and nearby attendees.
Film character: Soft focus, saturated color, uneven exposure, gate edges, and handheld framing give the short scene recognizable 8mm home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use it as a quick cutaway, memory beat, or transition for leisure, fairs, family outings, and small-town entertainment sequences.
Historical context: The scene shows an informal pay-to-play carnival game and adult participation, offering social context for local recreation without proving a specific event name.
Research note: Faces are visible, so likeness review may be needed; the visible sign appears generic, and copyright clearance is separate from privacy or publicity concerns.
Research search match: Matches searches for 1966 Mineola New York carnival game, 8mm home movie ring toss, 1960s fair booth, and vintage midway footage.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent shots from the same reel, then other Mineola 1966 material, then broader 1960s carnival, fair, and family recreation footage.
