Ducks Splashing In A Pond Followed By Adults In A Paddle... — Clip Details

Shot on 8mm film in 1964, this vintage home movie captures a serene day at Greenwood Lake, New York. The clip opens with a family of ducks swimming calmly across the water, their reflections rippling in the sunlit pond. The scene transitions to a couple enjoying a paddle boat ride, the man shirtless in swim trunks and the woman in a floral dress, both smiling as they glide past a wooden dock. In the background, two adults relax under a yellow umbrella on a grassy shore. The footage features classic Super 8 color grading, visible film grain, and a nostalgic, sun-drenched atmosphere, perfect for documentaries, editorial content, or vintage nostalgia projects.

Archive Intelligence

Archive brief fit: 1960s 8mm home-movie footage for edits needing lakeside recreation, ducks on water, and adults boating in a casual summer setting.
Period detail: The paddle boat, metal lawn chairs, floral dress, swimwear, and yellow shore umbrella support a mid-1960s leisure setting consistent with the clip metadata.
Home-movie behavior: The value is in the unstaged vacation perspective: ducks drift across the water before adults casually pedal past a dock while shore visitors sit nearby.
What appears in frame: Visible elements include ducks on rippled water, vertical posts, a dock edge, a paddle boat, seated adults, lawn chairs, a table, and a yellow umbrella.
Film character: The 8mm scan shows soft focus, visible grain, slight color fading, gate edges, and exposure shifts that read as physical home-movie texture.
Edit role: An editor could use this as a short cutaway, transition, or memory beat between broader summer lake, family vacation, or 1960s recreation scenes.
Historical context: The clip documents everyday warm-weather leisure at Greenwood Lake, showing boating, waterside seating, and casual dress without a staged public-event context.
Research note: People are visible, including recognizable adult faces in some frames, so likeness review may be needed even though no logos or audible music are indicated.
Research search match: Useful search matches include 1960s Greenwood Lake home movie, 8mm ducks on lake, vintage paddle boat footage, and adults boating by dock.
Archive pairing path: Pair first with adjacent same-reel lake footage, then other 1964 Greenwood Lake material, then broader 1960s summer recreation or waterfowl cutaways.
